Shared Living Provider Needed in Fort Kent

Northern Maine General (NMG) is currently seeking individuals or families interested in supporting an adult with intellectual disabilities or autistic disorders.  There is a need for Shared Living Providers (SLP) in Eagle Lake and Fort Kent and surrounding communities.  The primary provider must be at least 21 years of age.

Shared Living allows an adult with disabilities to live in a family-style setting and become a member of the household, the family, and their community. The SLP might help the person with their medical appointments, administer their medications, help them complete their daily living skills, and support them to be involved in their community.

The SLP must enter a contracted agreement with an oversight agency to provide services.  They must become a Certified Direct Support Professional and comply with the Shared Living Handbook provided by the Department of Health and Human Services.
